what's up wednesday, new on the blog, blogger, blog, how to blog,

October has been awesome! I’m really excited for this month’s What’s Up Wednesday!

Fall is here, even though we had about a week of 85+ degree weather here in DC. It’s finally chilly and I’m so ready for cooler weather.

Favorites of October

Pumpkin Patch: Our trip to the pumpkin patch was fun! I love this tradition. You can read all about out trip to the patch here.

Halloween: My husband, John, and I created this amazing DIY Spacecraft together. We took it out last weekend to the museum and it was a big hit. Can’t wait to take it out again. Read about how we made it here!

Sponsored Content: I completed my first Linqia sponsored post. It was fun creating and promoting it and I am so ready for my next challenge.  You can see my campaign post here!

Fall weather: It’s here. It’s finally here. I have my opaque tights out and I am ready to go.

Could Do Without

I haven’t stopped sniffling since last month! Over it. I know it’s that time of year, but I’d like my makeup to stay on my nose until at least noon.

Teething is killing me. Four canines are coming in at the same time. FOUR. Four very big reasons why I’m not sleeping at night.

Favorite Recipe

I started doing a Whole30 again!  I searched this week for recipes and found this awesome Whole30 compliant Shepherd’s Pie!

Weight Loss Journey

I’ve lost 3 lbs this month!

I’m happy with my progress and I keep working hard at both fitness and now eating.

I decided to do a Whole30 to get back on track with food. I’m only a few days in and I think my headache is finally going away. I really need to eat more fruit for this to work.

A fitness challenge is wrapping up, but there’ll be another in two weeks!

Blog Update

The blog has been growing!

I work hard every day on my blog and I really hope it shows.

I mentioned this before, but I completed my first paid sponsored post. I was nervous going in but the response has been overwhelmingly positive. I am excited for future opportunities as long as they’re in line with my focus.

I did turn down one opportunity because I didn’t feel it would be right.  I felt like it would have been too much of a stretch for me and that’s not what I’m about.

My social media accounts are flourishing. I have close to 3,500 followers on Twitter, 2,000 followers on Pinterest, and close to 200 likes on Facebook!  I also have over 400 followers on Instragram!

Blogging can be a full time job! Keeping up with all social media accounts is incredibly difficult and hard work, but I am going to read a book on time management to hopefully figure out how to manage my time better.

I’ve cranked out content this month. Here’s a round-up of my posts for October:

  1. Easy Halloween Ghost DIY With Hefty
  2. How To Increase Milk Supply
  3. Baby’s First Haircut
  4. DIY: Photograph Baby With Christmas Lights
  5. Our Trip To The Pumpkin Patch
  6. Six Things You Need On Your Baby Registry
  7. DIY: Spacecraft For Kids
  8. 8 Best Gifts for Toddlers 18-24 Months

My birthday is in November, so I am looking forward to that! I also love Thanksgiving and I’m looking forward to delicious food with my family.

Do you have any fun plans for November?

Ashley
