Time for another magical weight loss check in.

The past two weeks have been fantastic for me. I’m really excited where I am headed and the progress I’ve been making.

Let me break down what’s been going on so far!

Journey So Far

-34Lbs

My overall journey began in November of 2015. Β I had just turned 30 and was seven months postpartum. Β I joined Weight Watchers and had some success. Β In January of 2016 I discovered Whole30 and it really transformed the way I eat. Β I love Whole30! Β It was helpful that I had been trying to eat well immediately before. Β I loved finding new recipes and trying new foods.

Exercise has been slow going the entire time. Β I can get my food on track, but for some reason I can’t seem to find the time in my head or in life to get a workout in. Β I’ve started to space out exercising throughout the day at work which has been really helpful.

I do take my lunch walks, but I really haven’t been focusing on fitness. Β Overall I have lost thirty-four pounds just by eating better and moving more.

Have I made changes? Yes. Can I do better? Absolutely.

Here are the things I want to discuss:

  1. Wins
  2. Losses
  3. Progress
  4. Goals for the next week

Wins

Down one pound over the last two weeks!

I’ve been consistently losing a half pound a week, which I am starting to become okay with. It’s not a lot, but I need to lose this weight slooooowly.Β

I’ve successfully started Couch to 5k! It’s been fun, but tough! My ankle is making it through and feels great.

With the colder weather coming up (I hope, right?) I’ll need the gym and the treadmill to be my best friends. I’ll get outside when I can, but I am going to focus on getting to the gym for my lunch workouts.

This unfortunately shortens the workout time, so I’ll be doing a bit at home once I put Ri to bed.

Losses

I started a Whole30 and it’s definitely not been my best effort.

Halloween.

You’re all like “Oh yeah, candy.”

It’s not even too much, I had two pieces on Monday, another two on Wednesday. But it’s not good, friends. Not good at all.

I have really been doing well otherwise, but sugar is so hard.

Free Pass, weight loss check in

I’m going to give the next two weeks to be 100% committed to Whole30. I’ve done well today. I really need to focus and plan the meals I’ll be eating. When I don’t plan (and when there’s a rogue Reese’s cup around) I don’t do well.

Progress

I dropped a pound and have been moving more in recent weeks.

My pants are fitting much better. My favorite jeans are a little baggy in the thigh area too!

I am proud of how much I’ve been working out and that I’m actually excited to do a workout. So unlike me.

I’ll be beginning another fitness challenge on Monday with friends so I’m not slowing down anytime soon!

Goals For The Next Two Weeks

  • Plan all of my meals
  • Continue to do C25k
  • Complete all reps in the fitness challenge
  • AVOID SUGAR
  • Take before and after photos

I really want to start taking photos for comparison. I’m making changes, and I want my readers to see the changes I am making in my weight loss check in. I am thinking I will post them once a month.

I love doing my weight loss check in and I’m super excited because I’ve received great feedback on the check in posts! Just this past week, fellow blogger Melissa at Sippy Cups And Sneakers decided to start her own check in post! Β You can read her check in here.

If you’re a mom struggling to lose the weight or looking to begin a fitness and health journey yourself, there’s no better time than now.Β

What are your fitness and weight loss goals for the week?

Ashley

  1. I think I might have to start a check in most myself to keep accountable. I am not losing a darn thing. But ive also eaten half the kids Halloween candy, so it’s pretty much all my fault.

    Congrat and keep it up!
