Weight Loss Check In 11/21

Weight Loss Check In, Weight Loss, Fitness Journey, Weight Loss Postpartum, Mom Weight Loss, Exercise, Couch to 5kI apologize for being a few days late with my weight loss check in! Ri broke out in hives early Friday morning and hasn’t been well since.  I think it’s milk.
The past two weeks have been meh. Actually, just the last week. My birthday was on the 11th and I lost control and ate more cake than anyone should in a weekend.

Let me break down what’s been going on so far.

Journey So Far

-34Lbs

My overall journey began in November of 2015.  I had just turned 30 and was seven months postpartum.  I joined Weight Watchers and had some success.  In January of 2016 I discovered Whole30 and it really transformed the way I eat.  I love Whole30!  It was helpful that I had been trying to eat well immediately before.  I loved finding new recipes and trying new foods.

Exercise has been slow going the entire time.  I can get my food on track, but for some reason I can’t seem to find the time in my head or in life to get a workout in.  I’ve started to space out exercising throughout the day at work which has been really helpful.

I do take my lunch walks, but I really haven’t been focusing on fitness.  Overall I have lost thirty-four pounds just by eating better and moving more.

Have I made changes? Yes. Can I do better? Absolutely.

Here are the things I want to discuss:

  1. Wins
  2. Losses
  3. Progress
  4. Goals for the next week

Wins

I continue to workout. I dropped the ball on Couch to 5k, but I just started it back up and didn’t miss a beat.

Also, I’ve been continuing to do my weekly exercises with my fitness group. So fitness is going well.

Losses

I seriously didn’t give Whole30 a fighting chance this time. At all. I’m not upset at it, but I’m not happy either.

I haven’t avoided sugar completely.

What’s a vegetable?

I will try again after Thanksgiving to at least do it until Christmas Eve.


Free Pass, weight loss check in

I mentioned earlier I had jumped off the Couch to 5k wagon, but I did quickly recover. I wish I didn’t stop it. I started back at week one, which is fine, but I could be so much further along.

Progress

Zero pounds lost.

I only have myself to blame. You can’t eat half a cake, stop doing your cardio, and expect to drop weight.

Le sigh.

From my weight loss check in on 11/4:

  • Plan all of my meals – FAIL
  • Continue to do C25k – RESTARTED
  • Complete all reps in the fitness challenge – DONE!
  • AVOID SUGAR – FAIL
  • Take before and after photos – DONE!

I have my before photos, which was a goal I set two weeks ago. I will update photos in a month with progress at my next weight loss check in! This will really get me to stay on track at my weight loss check in. I need more accountability! 

In Two Weeks: Goals For My Weight Loss Check In 

  • STICK TO COUCH TO 5K
  • Complete all reps in the fitness challenge
  • AVOID SUGAR (except on Thanksgiving)

Now that I’ve written this, I feel a little disheartened by my lack of progress in the last two weeks. It’s no reason to give up and just proof that I need to work at it.  I will keep working and I promise next my weight loss check in will be nothing but positive.

The weight isn’t going to lose itself.
